May is here and we are on the down hill slide to summer! Central Bears are working hard and making great progress. The Washington State yearly testing begins this month, May 9-June 1, 2016. The staff and students are working hard to prepare. Information regarding testing was sent home with students, and informational letter is posted on the school website.
Attendance is the most important factor in your child's educational success. Central School is continuing the efforts on improving student attendance and achievement, and letters have been sent home. If you receive a letter regarding unexcused absences, please contact Ms. Dunn at 538-8412 to discuss this matter. Additional efforts will be made regarding unexcused absences and students with chronic absences.
Field trips have begun--and planning/preparations are happening. Those interested in chaperoning MUST have a current State Patrol Background Check on file. These forms are available in the school office, and it takes approximately 2-3 weeks to get clearance. Please consult with your child's teacher regarding field trips, chaperones, and other questions!
Tuesday May 3rd is the PTO meeting that begins the preparations for next year! If you would like to be informed regarding PTO topics, please attend. It will begin at 6:30 in the school library.
5th grade will be participating in the state required HIV/AIDS and Maturation curriculum. This will occur toward the end of the month of May. Parent permission forms will be sent home with your child. An information night will be schedule for parents to attend, and gain information and clarification for concerns that they may hold. Please be on the look out for further information.
