December is HERE!  We have a fast three weeks before the Winter Break.  Team Wednesday will begin again on December 7th, and students will be released at 1:25.  The weather is certainly getting colder.  Students are outside throughout the day for recess, so please make sure that your child is dressed for the cold weather--a hat, gloves, and coat are always a good idea!  Central School has put up a Holiday Giving Tree and is hosting a Holiday Toy Drive.  Students and families are welcome to donate new, unused items in the school office lobby.  If you would like to purchase a specific item, there are giving tags on the Giving Tree that may be taken.

Inclement Weather:

Possible school closures and delays for the Hoquiam School District will be reported to the local radio and television stations at 5:30 a.m.  In the event there is a late start, breakfast will be served.  A recorded message from the Superintendent regarding closure/delay information can be heard by dialing 538-8300.

Attendance is one the most important components to a successful education for children.  It is crucial that students attend school everyday, and that they are on time and stay until the end of the day.  Central School is making a special effort to ensure that all students fully benefit from their education by attending school regularly.  Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school--and themselves.  Consistent attendance will help children do well in their future school endeavors, college, and at work.  If your child is going to be absent, please contact Mrs. Gwinn, the Central School Office Coordinator, at 538-8230 to excuse their absence.  Any questions regarding attendance can be directed to Mrs. Gwinn or Ms. Dunn, Dean of Students, at 538-8230.
