The Hoquiam School District is very pleased to announce the selection of Scott Hyder as the new high school assistant principal. Scott comes highly recommended from the Yelm school district where he was involved with administrative, teaching and coaching duties. Scott will be joining new Principal, Brock Maxfield, as we start the 2012-13 school year.

Congratulations to Brock Maxfield, Assistant Principal at Hoquiam High School, as he was recently selected to become the next principal of Hoquiam High School. Brock’s appointment as HHS Principal was approved by the Hoquiam School Board in March. Brock is a graduate of HHS, attended Washington State University and returned to HHS as a teacher and Assistant Principal. Five different interview panels represented by parents, students, teachers and board members had the opportunity to ask Brock a myriad of questions before his his recommendation was carried to the board for approval. All panels were impressed with Brock’s passion for HHS and his commitment to take HHS to the “next level”.
Friday, June 15th will be the last day of school for students in Hoquiam School District. This will be an early release day as well. Our Teachers and Classified staff will come back to school on Monday June 18th for trainings and inservice.
